JoSAA Counselling Process 2025 – Step-by-Step Guide

Step 7: Select Freeze, Float, or Slide Option
After the seat is allotted, the candidate has to choose one of the three options:
- Freeze – Satisfied with allotted seat and do not want to upgrade
- Float – Accept seat but wish to be considered for better options in other institutes
- Slide – Accept seat but want to upgrade to a better branch within the same institute
Step 8: Further Rounds & Final Reporting
- You may be allotted a new seat in subsequent rounds
- After the final round, report physically to the allotted institute for admission
